Bible Reading Plan

April 2008

Rev. John Goris

During this month we want to engage in some deep heart-searching on the significance of the resurrection of Jesus. Of course, we do not doubt this milestone event in the history of this world.  It reverses the consequences of the Fall, even though we still live in a fallen world.  How do Christians and how does the Church express its faith in the reality of the resurrection?

Theme:  RAISED WITH CHRIST!

FACING THE FACTS….

Ask yourself as you read these passages:

•    In what does the old life differ from the new?

PRODUCING THE FRUIT….

Ask yourself as you read these passages:

•    What’s the drive behind fruit-bearing?

•    What’s the purpose?

•    What’s the source?

•    How does the productive life stand out?

•    What if there is no fruit?

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NEW LIFE

then what?

•    What need for renewal?

•    What need for commitment?
To what?

LIVING TOWARDS RESURRECTION DAY

Ask yourself as you read these passages:

•    Do we long for That Day?  Strongly?

•    Thinking through your resurrection: Wow!

•    How should we focus on the Resurrected One?

Monday 28th

Tuesday 29th

CONCLUSION:

Resurrection thinking is
Kingdom-thinking.

Resurrection living is Kingdom-living in a fallen world.

Does the world get the hint when it sees you or your church?
